Nintendo released a new overview trailer for its 3v3 wheelchair basketball game Drag x Drive ahead of its Nintendo Direct presentation. Drag x Drive is set to come out on August 14 for Nintendo Switch 2, and has a focus on stylish moves, fast-paced action, and a variety of expressive gameplay.
Drag x Drive first made an appearance in the April Direct, and it stood out for its colorful presentation and high-octane gameplay. In this latest trailer, Nintendo offers a closer look at the game’s mechanics, including character roles, multiplayer modes and customization options.
Players can take to the court for some arcade basketball, but they can also race against each other through obstacle courses.
Drag x Drive has a lot of potential for players who want to show off their skills and style on the court. Players will be able to choose different playstyles, utilize a trick-based scoring system, and compete in chaotic minigames to earn new customizations and unlock new gameplay features.
Pick Your Role: Guard, Forward or Center
Drag x Drive features three main player archetypes:
- Guard – Quick acceleration and nimble movement
- Center – Tougher, with more reach and resistance to slams
- Forward – Balanced stats for those who want versatility
Each role has a distinct approach to the game, and players will need to know when to pass the ball, when to boost up, and when to go for a big score.
The game also features a viability meter that assists players in determining when to shoot and a 14-second possession rule to keep the pace high. Trick shots are also rewarded with bonus points, so players can show off their skills while racking up points.
Minigames, Modes and Multiplayer Action
Beyond the main 3v3 basketball matches, Drag x Drive supports 12-player online lobbies, with two 6v6 games running simultaneously. It also spices things up with unique minigames like:
- Circuit Sprint – A racing obstacle course
- Rebound Scramble – Compete to grab a falling ball before anyone else
These side modes give players a break from the main game, but they also offer new customizations and rewards. Players can go for high scores on the leaderboards or simply show off their new look.
Drag x Drive is shaping up to be a fun and stylish game on Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s set to launch on August 14. Players will be able to hit the court and show off their moves in style soon enough.
