Hey let's face it - if you're old enough, you're probably still calling it Colin McRae Rally, right? Or is that just us? Anyway, Codemasters have some great news for Dirt Rally 2.0 players, with the Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack coming soon.
Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack is coming to Dirt Rally 2.0 on 24 March 2020 and will be a free addition to all Season owners.
As for the contents of the Flat Out pack, it will follow Colin McRae from his humble beginnings on the world stage, to his outstanding achievements from when he was already a household name in most parts of the world.
"Relive Colin's illustrious career from his early experiences in a Mini Cooper S, Peugeot 205 GTI and Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, all the way up to his championship battles in the blue and gold of Subaru, and the battles against said Subarus later on in his Ford Focus RS Rally 2001", Codemasters wrote.
Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack scenarios are split into four tiers, taking players through 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. It's not all about plain racing either, as some stages will have you starting off with heavy damage.
Others will require winning, of course, but Codemasters will have some special, difficult challenges too. They gave the example of Colin McRae's 1995 victory in New Zealand where he won by 40 seconds across 4 stages, which you'll naturally have to match.
Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack players are getting a new location in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, which Codemasters claim is the most challenging "location worthy of Colin's legend".
Dirt Rally 2.0 Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack brings two new cars, both of them Subaru. We're talking about Subaru Impreza S4 Rally, the car that launched on the same year that Colin McRae Rally launched on PC and PS, and Subaru Legacy RS, which carried Colin to many noteworthy results in the 90s.
You can check out the exact details of for free, but Standard Edition owners will be able to purchase it separately.
