As we draw closer to the Xbox Series X reveal event, Codemasters rolled out a brief gameplay demo of Dirt 5's Path Finder event, and it's just as it sounds.
Rough. Well, even that sounds like an understatement. As Donut Media's James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes stated in the video, "You've gotta be real brave or clinically insane to want to race on these tracks".
They stressed that Path Finder offers the most hard-core off-road terrain in the whole Dirt off-road series, and it's really hard to argue that.
We suppose that fans of the rally in Greece will find occasional similarities, but those are likely to be terrain-related. I mean, the jumps, the puddles and sharp, often extremely angled turns make Dirt 5's Path Finder events truly the most extreme way of racing.
Which is perfectly fine, mind you, and suggests that Dirt 5 will indeed be the ultimate Dirt rally experience, as it offers everything from smooth scenic experiences to breakneck, high-octane ones, where tumbling will count as long as it's through the finish line.
Extreme events require extreme cars, of course, and Dirt 5's Path Finder demo has a "monstrous rock bouncer, built to overcome all obstacles with huge tyres, mad suspension and plenty of power."

Codemasters confirmed that Dirt 5 is coming with 13 vehicle types , which is telling of the variety of events and races coming with the game. We posted a nifty little breakdown of all the classes, and yes - they include the "monstrous rock bouncer" you see over here.
