Crucible players who are tired of getting frozen and waiting for death may now have a chance as latest Destiny 2 update nerfed Stasis so it makes you slightly sturdier. Warlocks will be around the corner to mop you up though.
Destiny 2 PvP has seen a major hit with the release of Beyond Light, in the form of Stasis. Never before was there a barrage of abilities that could freeze someone in place. Standing still, unable to do anything and waiting for someone to execute you is not the idea of fun for the most people in the world and the principle held up with Destiny 2 PvP player base as well.
Bungie finally decided to do something about these abilities with the launch of Season of the Chosen as the status effect caused is being handled somewhat differently.
First and foremost, frozen players can now take 200 damage before getting shattered, which is probably the best part of the changes since it will require more than just one melee hit to get killed. On top of that, they will take half the damage from primary ammo weapons, meaning it will be even harder to shatter them.
On the flip side, Special and Heavy ammo weapons, as well as non-Stasis abilities, will deal 50 per cent more damage to the frozen targets. Teammate combos will be stronger than before and you will have to use your big guns to pop the Guardians more easily but keep in mind it will take roughly the same amount of Special/Heavy ammo as it did before the changes.
Warlocks who loved blowing up enemies with Handheld Supernova will get more opportunities to do so as self-damage has been decreased from 100 per cent to just 25 per cent. In other words, you can kill enemies at point-blank range without blowing yourself up, which should technically be a good anti-shotgun strategy.
