Have you spent a bunch of time customising your character's body and features in Cyberpunk 2077? It may have proven to be a waste as the game will censor V's nudity.
Nudity has been a big selling point for CD Projekt Red games, from the first Witcher to the latest release, Cyberpunk 2077. Even the first gameplay demo that was initially shown to press and influencers behind closed doors featured nudity up close.
Still, it appears that CD Projekt Red will draw the line at having V walking around with no clothes as the player character can apparently be nude only in the inventory screen.
The players thought this was caused by a bug or a hotfix that caused some clipping issues with certain body parts but according to CDPR, this is not the case and V is not meant to be able to walk around with no clothes on.
This information is coming from Alicja , one of CDPR's community coordinators, through the official Cyberpunk 2077 forums. Namely, the players kept reporting the lack of character features being shown as a bug but the community manager noted that "lack of nudity (outside of the inventory) is not a bug" and that it "works as intended".
Furthermore, if players undress V, the character "will always have underwear in FPP and photo mode and any other cases outside of the inventory menu".
In other words, all that talk of customisable genitals that could be seen as one of the game's selling points led to pretty much nothing.
Those hoping to go streaking around Night City will still be able to do so in time, since mods for Cyberpunk 2077 are already popping up on Nexus Mods and it's not a question of if but rather of when a mod will come around, allowing us to walk around with no underwear on.
