Cyberpunk 2077 will be immediately available on next-gen consoles but it will be the same version we have on current-gen. At some point down the line, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will get the upgraded game with all the eye candy enhanced and whatnot.
CD Projekt Red and Microsoft already announced that this upgrade will be free for the players who buy Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One and wish to experience the upgraded version on Xbox Series X. Gamers shouldn't be forced to pay twice for the same product, after all, right?
While that's the confirmed state of things on Microsoft's side, neither Sony nor CD Projekt Red confirmed the case will be the same for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
According to CD Projekt Red, the lack of an official announcement coming from PlayStation is what is stopping the developers from confirming or denying anything related to Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 5.
This statement came from Michal Nowakowski, seen by VGC, during the teleconference where the developers reiterated once again that Cyberpunk 2077 would not get delayed again, regardless of the issues imposed by Coronavirus pandemic.
On top of that, CDPR confirmed that the game will have at least just as much DLC and expansion content as The Witcher 3 which is certainly something the fans can look forward to.
