It has been over two decades but we are finally getting another Commandos stealth tactics gmae.

Stealth tactics genre had been virtually dead for a straight decade until Mimimi Games revived it with Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun but the future looked grim after the studio announced they were closing down.

Another glimmer of hope appeared just recently, in the form of Commandos Origins, a new entry in the game series that started it all.

And no, it is not a first-person shooter. It is a genuine stealth tactics game that wears its challenging nature as a badge of honour.

We will once again get to sabotage and beat down the nazis with the Green Beret, Sapper, Sniper, Driver, Marine and Spy in all of the series' isometric glory.

Another feature the game presents proudly is the multitude of ways one can approach each mission. There are a ton of tools at the player's disposal, including sneaking, climbing, driving and hiding that will let them complete the objectives.

It appears that the game will have fewer missions than the original though, with "more than 10" announced with the trailer. Technically, 20 would be more than 10 as well but there would be no reason not to call it 20 then.

In any case, these missions will send the players all over the world, from the freezing temperatures of the Arctic to the scalding sands of the African desert.

The game will also feature a two-player co-op, either online or via split screen.

Commandos Origins is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on Game Pass.
