Firaxis Games and 2K announced a DLC pack for Civilization VI is set to launch in February, 2018. Civilization VI: Rise and Fall will bring new choices, strategies challenges and more. The pack will also add nine new leaders and eight new civilizations.
2K and Firaxis Games have made an announcement telling us that Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is getting an expansion pack. Named "Rise and Fall", the pack should be available for PC on 08 February, 2018.
Civilization VI: Rise and Fall will bring new choices, strategies and challenges - basically, you get more of Civ VI. That's never a bad thing now, is it?
A new city loyalty system, new Great Ages and Governors will be made available and the expansion will also, ahem, expand the existing Diplomacy and Government systems. But where is the sentence with one "and" too many - I hear you read.

Here it comes: Civilization VI: Rise and Fall will add nine new leaders and eight new civilizations, a variety of new units, districts, wonders, buildings, and more. Three "and-s," not bad.
I made you read that sentence again, haven't I. *uncalled for evil laughter*
"Sid Meier’s Civilization is 2K’s longest running franchise and we’re thrilled to reveal this exciting and dynamic expansion for fans to experience Civilization VI in all new ways,” said Matt Gorman, VP of Marketing at 2K.
"With the new Great Ages system in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, players can experience the ebb and flow of building empires amidst the challenges of history, either to lasting greatness or the dust of antiquity,” added Anton Strenger, Lead Designer at Firaxis Games.

The quotes are out of the way, we can now focus on the expansion's key features:
- Great Ages: During your reign, your civilization will reach several "Historic Moments", and according to your leadership skills, you'll plunge your people into a Dark or a Golden Age. Each Age brings its own challenges as well as bonuses. If you manage to survive a Dark Age, the next Golden one will be a Heroic Age.
- Loyalty: Each city will have individual Loyalty. If the stat falls too low, you can expect "low yields, revolts, and the potential to lose your city to another civilization, or its own independence" explains the press release. As you inspire Loyalty in your cities, your borders will expand.
- Governors: These are some powerful characters you can recruit, appoint, and upgrade. They have specialization bonuses and promotion trees they use to customize your cities, and reinforce Loyalty.
