CD Projekt Red announced a Gwent game that sounds a lot like what Witcher 3 fans wanted for so long as Rogue Mage is just about to be released.

Adventuring in The Witcher 3 could often be derailed by the ferocious need to ask every possible NPC to play a round of Gwent as the minigame was simplistic but complex enough to keep one's focus and collecting new cards to incorporate in your favourite deck took care of the necessary dopamine hits.

In the years after Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red attempted to scratch the itch fans still had after Geralt's adventures concluded but the card game in Thronebreaker wasn't that much similar to the Gwent we all know and love while the actual Gwent game was multiplayer.

Now, Gwent: Rogue Mage is aiming to cater to the audience that loved the Witcher 3 minigame and it's releasing on July 7, 2022. Rogue Mage is a singleplayer game and it returns to the Gwent roots as the gameplay loop resembles that iteration a bit more.

Players will start off with 12 cards and will get to loot more as they progress the game in the shoes of Alzur, a mage attempting to create the first-ever witcher .

Those who are looking to jump in on the familiar fun will need to dish out $9.99 for the standard edition or $19.99 for the fancy one that provides cosmetics and more for the multiplayer game.

Technically, Rogue Mage is a standalone expansion for the multiplayer Gwent but CDPR noted it is fully playable offline so you won't have to worry about that either.
