CD Projekt Red have issued an official statement, confirming that multiple dev teams are currently working on different projects. Three teams are currently focused on Cyberpunk 2077 development, with two of them working on the main game.

Earlier this week, rumours started to surface about the development of three Cyberpunk projects, on top of the current game - Cyberpunk 2077. If this sounds too good to be true, it's because it probably is and CD Projekt Red have issued an official statement, claiming that the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is split between three dev teams, which caused the confusion.

According to Polish developer, two of these dev teams are working on the main game, while the third is made of specialists engaged in research and development.

"We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt RED Warsaw and Kraków, who are handling the main game, as well as the Wrocław studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D," CD Projekt Red explained to Gamespot.

While this definitely clears up a lot of things regarding the development of Cyberpunk 2077, it still does not deny that the studio's new AAA title, which should arrive by 2021, could be another Cyberpunk game.

In their public roadmap, CD Projekt Red listed another RPG game, but the details on this game are almost non-existent. CD Projekt Red bosses mentioned it a couple of times on the company's earnings call but it's always followed by "We're not ready to talk about it yet".

All in all, it looks like CD Projekt Red will be pretty busy in the upcoming years. The studio are constantly improving their card game Gwent, and also have a yet unannounced mobile project in the works.

Also, there was a mention of multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077, and it's possible that this could be another project they are currently working on.

Cyberpunk 2077 is hitting the shelves on 16 April 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
