Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3 is coming out on April 3, 2024. The new update brings back community favourite Rebirth Island into the Resurgence map pool.
In celebration of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile's launch, all Call of Duty titles are receiving huge content drops, including new weapons, aftermarket parts, battle passes, and in-game changes.
The in-game changes to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 include a new roster of public events that will take place across all game modes. Here's an overview of how these public events will work in-game.
All New Public Events in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3 introduces three new public events for Rebirth Island, Vondel and Urzikstan. These events will alter a few gameplay elements and provide players with an added opportunity to freshen up their playstyle.
Rebirth Infil Strikes
Rebirth Island has numerous POIs players land on every match. With the new Rebirth Infil Strike public event, a random POI will be levelled to the ground with a missile strike just before landing.
This new event forces players to change their landing strategies, keeping the in-game flow fresh. As the name suggests, this event will only be available on the Rebirth Island map. Here are the three possible locations of the new Rebirth Infil Strike event:
- Lighthouse Disintegration: The lighthouse tower at Headquarters topples into the forecourt and the corner of the Prison below, creating rubble ramps to the adjacent building and the Prison.
- Prison Roof Collapse: An aerial bombardment creates a large plume of smoke and a massive fracture across the Prison roof, with numerous small fires and rubble piles inside the now-visible interior.
- Water Tower Wreckage: Missiles strike the tower’s central platform, and it crashes down into the plateau close to the helipad. A mass of mangled steel, the tank is ripped open in several places.
Gulag: Climb and Punishment
During start of Gulag, an announcement will be made about the new Climb and Punishment public event. Once announced, the two players in the Gulag will have the option to fight each other or climb up the ladder for an easy escape. The new feature will force players to communicate with each other on proximity voice chat to make an easy return on the battlefield.
Heavy Armor
Announced during infil, if this public event is activated, it provides players with some added protection, enabling the equipping of an additional armour plate for the duration of the match. The extra plate enforces the following changes:
- This increases player armour hit points from 150 to 200.
- The extra plate slot is applied no matter what type of plate carrier players have equipped.
- Except for the Tempered Plate Carrier, players will have four filled plates at the start of a match, with a total of 200 health and 50 health per plate.
The new public events will be available on Rebirth Island and other maps with the start of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3 on April 3, 2024. The addition of these new public events will push players to create new strategies for landing and surviving in Resurgence and Ranked Play.
