Modern Warfare's battle royale mode has been subject of many leaks and rumours in the past but Activision are yet to officially talk about it. However, the latest leak suggests that this could change in the near future.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received plenty of content updates ever since its release in October 2019 and soon, it will receive another big content drop once the Season 01 is officially replaced by Season 02. In the latest patch, which weights enormous 50 GB, the developer Infinity Ward have included some files, which tease the upcoming content.
According to the datamined files, which were shared by the reliable Call of Duty leaker TheGamingRevolution, Modern Warfare could soon finally introduce the rumoured battle royale mode. Now, keep in mind that Infinity Ward and the publisher Activision are yet to talk about the battle royale mode. There has not been any official info that the mode is in the works, all we have are just leaks and rumours.
That being said, the files reveal a pretty legit-looking shot from the game, which is apparently a loading screen for the mode. You can see it above. TheGamingRevolution claims that the image has been added to the game in the recent update and it is named Loading_MP_Donetsk_BG. Some earlier rumours suggested that the name of the map is indeed Donetsk and the latest file name clearly follows that claim.
Many players seem to think that Infinity Ward added the new battle royale mode to the game in the latest update, which was unusually large. It would make sense since Season 01 is coming to an end pretty soon, 11 January 2019, to be more precise.
Whether a battle royale mode is indeed the biggest highlight of Season 02 it remains to be seen. Luckily, will not have to wait for too long since the Season 02 start date is just around the corner. For more Call of Duty: Modern Warfare content, check out our , and fixes for and .
