Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is just around the corner so Activision today released a new blog post, detailing the game's PC features and system specs.
Starting with the PC-exclusive features, we have to say that Modern Warfare 3 is a bit underwhelming as it comes with the options that we usually expect from every AAA release in 2023.
Activision highlights Nvidia DLSS 3 and Reflex, graphics customisation options, 4K resolution and ultrawide support. Again, pretty standard stuff which some may find disappointing.
Another surprise is the lack of ray-tracing features. Neither the blog post nor the trailer mention any ray-tracing implementation which is very odd as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had ray-traced shadows a couple of years ago.
One would think that ray-tracing in 2023 should be the standard for most AAA releases as GPUs have become much better at rendering this new tech but that sadly won't be the case when it comes to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PC specs
Below, you'll find a graphic featuring detailed PC system requirements for various resolutions and graphical presets.
When it comes to PC specs, as you can see in the graph, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 won't demand the most expensive hardware available.
In fact, the most demanding part is the storage space requirement. This is something that we've seen in previous games too and Modern Warfare 3 continues the tradition of 100+ GB download size.
All in all, it's nice that Activision have seemingly optimised Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to run on most PCs but we're disappointed with the lack of modern features like ray-tracing or path tracing in the campaign.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
