According to Call of Duty leaker Hope, the Call of Duty title that is scheduled for a 2026 release is being developed on the next Xbox console and will be the first Call of Duty to skip old gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We've heard rumours about the next Xbox console coming sometime in 2026 and the recent insider information from Call of Duty leaker Hope on social media X fuels the speculation about the new console even further.

The insider reveals that the Call of Duty game that is scheduled for a 2026 release date is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, which will certainly make fans of this modern day series happy.

But the most interesting part from this leak is the info that Call of Duty 2026 is being developed on dev kits for the next Xbox console, which suggest we'll see Microsoft's next console launch in Holiday 2026.

The insider also revealed that Call of Duty 2026 will be the first Call of Duty game to leave behind PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, which makes sense if its being built on the next gen Xbox.

In terms of improvements and enhancements to the game and game engine, it's stated that the UI will be more traditional, like older Call of Duty games, the engine is being overhauled to address visual clutter issues from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Warzone 3 might not happen

Regarding Warzone, the insider stated that the third iteration of this free-to-play battle-royale might not happen if the return of Verdansk map fails to retain current players and attract new ones.

He elaborated that Warzone 2 was a big disappointment and Activision "may not wanna put further resources into a mode that has been around for 6 years and continues to see diminishing returns."

As always with leaks and rumours, we suggest you take everything here with a grain of salt until we get an official announcement or a more sources that can corroborate this info from Hope.
