Waylay, the newest Valorant agent, joins the roster starting March 5th. Waylay joins the Valorant roster according to the official announcement from Riot Games. First revealed during the VCT Masters: Bangkok grand finals Waylay made her debut with a high-speed playstyle that uses her light transformation ability to outmaneuver opponents.
Waylay should become available during Act 2 of its 2025 season starting on March 5, 2025. Waylay possesses an ability kit that enhances rapid movement capabilities with teleportation and disruption features to establish her as a powerful flanker.
The cinematic trailer displays her movement capabilities while the gameplay trailer shows how she employs her skills during matches.
Waylay’s abilities
- Refract - Creates a light beacon on the floor surface. Waylay possesses the ability to teleport back to her beacon point from any location on the map while staying invulnerable during her journey.
- Light Speed - Provides Waylay with double dash capabilities and enables her to move at light speed. Waylay’s initial dash moves her upwards and her subsequent dash propels her forward. She has the option to perform a single forward dash instead.
- Saturate - Launches a light cluster which explodes on contact to slow enemies caught in the blast and disrupts their weapons functionality.
- Ultimate: Convergent Paths - Generates an afterimage which emits a light beam. The beam expands after a brief delay which both increases Waylay’s speed and limits movement for enemies in the area where it occurs.
Cyrax collection and other updates
The Cyrax Collection comes out on March 6 alongside Waylay and includes crystalline-themed weapon skins for:
- Vandal
- Ghost
- Guardian
- Stinger
- Fanblade (Melee)
Tejo was the final major agent addition released before Waylay and he worked as a ballistics expert who specialized in explosives and stealth drones. The 2025 season premiere included Tejo as a new playable agent.
Valorant’s ongoing evolution
Valorant combines Counter-Strike-inspired tactical shooting with Overwatch-like hero shooter elements across PC and next-gen consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game becomes dynamic and unpredictable because every agent possesses special abilities that contribute strategic depth.
