Borderlands 3's Director's Cur add-on will officially launch March 18, 2021. The upcoming content dump will bring an array of stuff: from a new raid boss and items to some behind-the-scenes secrets.
Director’s Cut will be the second half of Season Pass 2 alongside Designer’s Cut, all of which are included in the Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition.
Hemovorous the Invincible - a colossal raid boss
Hemovorous the Invincible is a gargantuan Varkid who drops some of the best loot in the game.
Hemovorous has made her lair behind a previously sealed door on Pandora, and Director’s Cut will provide the players with a chance to try and take her down. If you’ve completed the main story campaign and own Director’s Cut, you’ve earned the right to take on Hemovorous.
Getting the door to Hemovorous' lair to open will cost the player and their group no less than 500 Eridium.
Hemovorous' strength will scale with both your character level beyond 35 and your active Mayhem Mode level.
Ava's Murder Mysteries and behind-the-scenes content
Ava is convinced she has a lead on some potentially supernatural slayings and has decided to document her findings in serialized podcast form.
The new story missions will take place on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo. Solving these mysteries will require more than just running and gunning. There will also need to be some stopping and a bunch of thinking. The players' findings will affect Borderlands 3's story at large.
Director’s Cut also includes some bonus behind-the-scenes content from the making of Borderlands 3, including a gallery full of concept art, storyboards, lost maps, and footage from throughout the game’s development.
The three new Vault Cards will unlock a group of themed cosmetics plus some powerful gear that scales to your level. There will be a new tab added to your Echo device so you can manage the new loot.
The first of the three Vault Cards will launch as part of Director’s Cut, featuring items that honour some of the franchise’s most beloved fallen heroes and the remaining two Vault Cards are scheduled to launch by the end of 2021.
Vault Card content can be activated at any time once released, and when multiple Vault Cards are available you’ll have the option to select which one you want to activate.
When you have a Vault Card active, you’ll be presented with three daily challenges and one multi-tiered weekly challenge that will grant a sizable chunk of XP when completed. The challenges will be randomly assigned from a pool of over 100 different tasks.
More info on how Vault Cards work will be shared closer to March 18.
