Mass Effect developer Bioware posted a video on their official Twitter reminding players of the N7 Day in which the game director Casey Hudson drops a small tease by stating that he's dreaming about the next great Mass Effect game.
It looks like Bioware haven't given up on the sci-fi action RPG franchise as the game director Casey Hudson dropped a small hint in Bioware's twitter post in honour of "N7 Day". The short video features fans and developers talking about their love for the franchise just before Hudson shows up with the words dreaming and next Mass Effect in the same sentence.
"It means coming into the studio every day, dreaming about what the next great Mass Effect game will be," Hudson says while staring at the camera and taking a sip from a Mass Effect mug with Shepard's famous "I should go" line written on it.
It's not the first time Hudson's mentioning a new Mass Effect game. Back in September 2018, he tweeted that no future Bioware games will be influenced by Anthem, including potential new Dragon Age and Mass Effect titles.
"When we do a Dragon Age game it will be designed from the ground up based on what Dragon Age should be. Same with Mass Effect," Hudson assured the fans. Bioware's lead producer Mike Gamble's comments from E3 2018 also strongly confirmed that Mass Effect "certainly isn't dead."
It's hard to predict which path Bioware will take with the new Mass Effect game after the abysmal reception of the latest iteration in the series. Will they try something completely new or take it back to the roots remains to be seen, but it should take some time before we get any official information about the game.
Bioware's currently occupied with the upcoming Anthem, which will release as a live service and they surely have a long and ambitious plan for this one. Still, they could have multiple teams working on separate projects in different stages given the studio's size.
