343 Industries' Frank O’Connor has confirmed that Halo: Infinite will not launch with an official battle royale mode. He further commented that the development team won't talk about about the modes or anything of the matter just yet.

Earlier this week, rumours started to surface about Halo: Infinite and potential implementation of battle royale mode. The rumour appeared in Xbox Insider, who claimed that Halo: Infinite will be the most expensive game ever and that it would feature a battle royale mode.

Frank O'Connor from 343 Industries, the developers of Halo: Infinite officially responded to these rumours. He said that they are not true and that 343 Industries don't have plans to introduce such mode in Halo: Infinite.

However, O'Connor also said that players will be able to make one in the Forge for Halo 5 or the Master Chief Collection. He continued by talking about Apex Legends and Fortnite and their focus on movement and building respectively and how battle royale overall has changed over time.

Also, the devs are not yet ready to confirm what kind of multiplayer modes will be included in the game on launch but Battle Rifle mode will be there. "The launch modes for MP are not 100 per cent defined and are subject to change till quite late in the process - but Battle Rifle will still be there. So you can have BR," O'Connor confirmed.

He also said that the devs are certainly interested in "big social modes with loads of organic shenanigans" but specifically, a battle royale mode, which he calls "a blimp full of survivors heading to an Island after a lecture from Beat Takeshi" is not something they want to do.

All in all, we would say that 343 Industries take on this is a win-win situation. They won't bother creating a battle royale mode but are offering the tools for players to create it themselves. This way, battle royale fans will have their small piece of heaven while those who prefer other modes will have plenty of them once the game launches.
