On September 6, 2024, Astro Bot 2 will hit the stores, along with a special edition of the DualSense controller with the theme of Sony's upcoming game. Less than a month earlier, pre-orders of this special edition controller started and after just one day of being on digital stores, they are all sold out already.
Pre-orders were available at the PlayStation Store, Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy, and after just one day, it was impossible to find a single Astro Bot controller out there. This is hardly the first special edition controller that Sony has released, but we can't recall another one that had such high demand and sold out so quickly.
But probably the Astro Bot DualSense's good sales can be attributed to the fact that this controller is really beautifully designed and attracts incredible attention with details never before seen on any DualSense controller.
As for Astro Bot 2 itself, the game is a direct sequel to the legendary Astro Bot that came integrated with the PlayStation 5. This game, however, will be way bigger than the first, and the biggest difference will be in its price. Astro Bot 2 will be a semi-open-world platformer priced at $79,99, as are all other Sony exclusives.
