ARC Raiders keeps gaining traction, and 2026 is already proving to be quite the year for Embark Studio’s hit game. The extraction shooter has surpassed 12 million sales on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, further establishing itself as one of the biggest indie successes of recent years.
Player counts have remained healthy too, with a million players recently completing their first Expedition Project.
To celebrate this, players are being rewarded for the achievement with a gift from the developers.
Arc Raiders is giving players a freebie
The studio took to the official ARC Raiders X account to let everyone know that “over 12 million Raiders have ascended from Speranza to raid the Rust Belt,” crediting the community for reaching the huge milestone.
To celebrate, every player who is eligible will receive a free copy of the Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool. This cosmetic was originally released to commemorate the 10 million sales mark, but it looks like everyone who has played ARC Raiders recently will receive it as a reward.
Any players who have logged into the game at any point between launch and 13 January at 23: 59 CET will qualify for the free gift. The latest patch will apply the Gilded Pickaxe to qualifying accounts automatically, so there’s nothing you need to do to receive it.
Looking forward
Not only is ARC Raiders hitting incredible sales milestones, but it’s also recently been estimated that the game has earned over $350 million in revenue. User counts are still strong too, with estimates showing around 3.2 million daily active users at its peak.
Though Steam accounts for a large portion of the playerbase, ARC Raiders sales on PlayStation and Xbox have helped bolster its numbers.
Supporting post-launch content, an active community, and obvious developer enthusiasm indicates ARC Raiders is built for the long haul. Giving out free gifts to players at yet another milestone for the game seems to be another case of that.
