Thanks to a Reddit response by Respawn's developer Daniel Klein, we know that Octane, Mirage, Pathfinder and Rampart are getting buffed in the next Apex Legends update.
Responding to fan inquiries in the Fight or Fright Reddit post, Klein revealed some information on Apex Legends' next update, and while he didn't go into specific details - he did give us a heads up.
Asked whether there's news on Mirage changes and Rampart's buff, Klein replied, "Both of those are in there! Keep an eye out for the patch notes; I don't wanna spoil stuff before."
He also confirmed that Pathfinder's grappling hook nerf will be getting "a fix", but not before the Season 7 update, i.e. not in the next update.
As for the rework/buff of Apex Legends' amped up runner, Octane, Klein said, "You'll get a tiny buff in season 7. Octane's got a very high pick rate (a lot of people play him) and also a very high encounter win rate (he wins individual engagements a lot); it's just his trios win rate that's low, and that's kind of okay: he's a selfish, charge-in-guns-blazing character who's a ton of fun to play but also eventually gets himself killed."
Interestingly, he also shared some things that Respawn learned in Titanfall 2's multiplayer, which was quite hectic and heavy on wall-running and double jumps.
What Respawn found is that Titanfall 2's multiplayer wore out players quickly, whereas Apex's gameplay is significantly more deliberate and engaging. Or to summarize, "Wallrunning and double jumping are sugar rush mechanics that are good in small doses, in LTMs, and in asymmetric combat situations. It's very unlikely they'll come to Apex proper."
