Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a possible candidate for Call of Duty Pro League?

Well, either they're planning a battle royale of their own or they just really like Fortnite, because Activision Blizzard couldn't stop talking about the battle royale craze and how their unholy matrimony is very good at copying other work.

In the company's post-earning investor call, Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick couldn't stop talking about the phenomenon that is Fortnite and how it managed to attract millions of new gamers of all ages and genders.

Kotick added that new battle royale modes have "compelling survivor mechanics" and, perhaps more importantly, "large in-game pools". The interesting part was when he exclaimed that Activision Blizzard are "very, very encouraged by this".

This could either mean that Activision and Blizzard are real buds with Epic and really want them to do well, or that they've got a battle royale ace up their sleeve. What do you think, probably the first one, right?

Activision's head honcho added that they're "very quick to figure out how to capture inspiration from innovation", which practically means good at adapting other concepts while ensuring they can't be sued for it. Naturally, Kotick calls it "inspired by those", as if their last bits of inspiration haven't been escorted out of the building by security.

To be fair, Activision have been pretty vocal about their close monitoring of current gaming trends. In fact, the company said they're and dropped pretty much the same hints back in March 2018.

Ultimately, this would either suggest that Activision Blizzard are working on a separate battle royale title or that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will indeed come with . Knowing Activision Blizzard and their now doubled tendency to die inside when seeing cash go elsewhere, we wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was both.
