In a recent turn of events, Activision has added a new age verification requirement for Call of Duty titles. The new system comes in place to create a safer environment for all players of the game.

Call of Duty has been in a shaky place for the past few years. Since the release of Call of Duty: Warzone in 2020, the game has gone through significant changes every other year. While some of these changes were made to keep the game in a stable state, a few left the player base in confusion.

In a recent turn of events, Activision has put an age verification system in place for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2. The new system has left players in a state of confusion. Previously, Activision had made phone number verification mandatory for all Call of Duty accounts, which has now vanished into thin air.

Call of Duty's New Age Verification System

In a recent post by CharlieIntel on X, it was highlighted that a new age verification system has been added to Call of Duty with the recent update.

In a response to the new system, Activision states that, "In accordance with our efforts to deliver a positive community experience as detailed in the Call of Duty Code of Conduct, Activision players are being asked to provide updated information to their accounts."

With the new age verification system, all players must provide a valid birth date to play Call of Duty. Players who fall below the allowed minimum age will require parental supervision to play the game.

Now let's move on to the part that has left all players confused: the age verification system is practically useless. Activision does not require any official documents from players to confirm their age; rather, they can manually enter their birth date. The whole point of age verification becomes pointless as underage players can easily change their birth year to play the game.

Moreover, Activision has stated that players who fail to add their birth date by November 10, 2025, will automatically lose access to their accounts. So, make sure to complete the age verification before the provided date to avoid any sort of issues with your account.
