Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is gearing up for its next big annual shake-up with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Since the inclusion of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 in the Call of Duty HQ system, the battle royale title gets a complete annual revamp with the release of the new Call of Duty title.
Every annual revamp of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 includes the launch of a new battle royale or resurgence map. Following that trend and a recent string of leaks, it seems like the Zombies' map Liberty Falls might become the new Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Resurgence map.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Resurgence's Next Map Might Be an Extended Version of Liberty Falls
In a recent tweet, reputed Call of Duty leaker TheGhostofHope shared a follow-up on his previous leak about the new Resurgence map. Surprisingly, the next Warzone 2 Resurgence map might be the extended version of the Zombies' map Liberty Falls.
The next major annual update for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will become available with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 season 1 update. The Season 1 update will go live a month after the game's release on November 14, 2025. The new Resurgence map will then be added to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 with the major update.
Other reputed leakers and playtesters have shared their mixed reactions about the new Resurgence map. According to some of the early playtesters, the new map seems to be not as good as Rebirth Island in terms of playability. However, the final version of the map might be a lot different than the playtest version.
All Resurgence maps except Rebirth Island have been received with mixed reactions by the community. So, the inclusion of a Zombies map as the next big Resurgence map might not have been the best course of action for Call of Duty: Warzone 2. The first look at the new map might come around with the Call of Duty NEXT event at the end of September.
