EA's upcoming co-op game, A Way Out is now gold. The game's writer and director Josef Fares shared the news via Twitter. During The Game Awards back in December, publisher EA announced A Way Out will have a "friends pass free trial".

The solution: during The Game Awards back in December, publisher EA announced a "friends pass free trial" for the game that lets you play the full title if your friend owns it. How nice.
EA couldn't resist not throwing a couple of caveats in there: you need a constant Internet connection and an EA account to use this trial. Also, your friend must be on the same platform, and you'll need PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold if you're playing on console.
A Way Out is set in the '70s and focuses on the story of two convicts on the run after they broke out of a prison. Fun little side note: if Leo and Vincent were to make out, their beards would never touch.

The game's writer and director Fares is also a film director, known for the stunts he pulled when he went off-script during The Game Awards, said "F!@# the Oscars." and gave the middle finger to the camera in an awkward interview with host Geoff Keighley. A misunderstood artist through and through.
He showed his passion again when he spoke to GameSpot about A Way Out saying "I live, breathe, s*** this game. It is everything for me". He added that "Even if the whole word told me this is s***, I still know in my heart it's not, it's great. I know when people play it, they will understand what I mean, what's it doing."
Spoiler alert: Fares will soon have a YouTube channel and scream "F!@# The Game Awards" at the top of his lungs to anyone who will listen, and give generously to his Patreon page.

A Way Out will be published by EA, so EA/Origin Access subscribers will probably get to give it a whirl before it launches. The usual set-up is that you get a demo of a game five days before it launches, but we don't know for certain if that will happen this time around.
