Creative Assembly have been pretty tightlipped on A Total War Saga: Troy thus far, with a few blog posts here and there to break the silence, and now they came out with awesome news.
As it stands, A Total War Saga: Troy will launch via the Epic Games Store on August 13, 2020, and it will be free to keep for players who download the game in the first 24 hours.
A Total War Saga: Troy is, of course, set in the titular city of legend, in Bronze-Age, where players get to play as Achilles, Hector and other legendary heroes. Whether you want to defend the city or leave it in rubble will be your decision.
"Thanks to Epic, we're able to offer a Total War title for free on its launch day. It's a hugely exciting thing for us to be able to do for our players", said Sega Europe's chief studios officer Tim Heaton. “Not only does this mean that we can bring the tales and legends of Troy to a wide audience through Epic’s massive platform, but it also means new players will get to try Total War for the first time, experiencing the unique gameplay that the series is famous for."
Creative Assembly appear to have done a great job in ensuring A Total War Saga: Troy is not just a reskin of their other Total War games. According to their earlier updates, they really wanted the game to reflect the era in trade, commerce and even religion, where many gods rule the land with awesome powers.
This is the Bronze-Age we're talking about here, so expect authentic weaponry too, but we'll let you learn more about that over here .
