Doublelift admitted to not being able to find the motivation to perform at maximum level during the Spring Split since its impact is much lower than that of Summer Split. This led to some performances that didn't impress, eventual benching and now it seems like Team Liquid are looking to part ways with the star player.
Earlier during the Spring Split, Team Liquid brought Tactical in from the academy team in order to sub Doublelift out after his performance didn't impress. The player took this as a sign he needed to focus more and try harder but now it looks like that was not enough or there might be unrest within the team and they are looking to shake things up.
The news about the situation with Doublelift and the team came from Travis Gafford, so it does not exactly qualify as official news but he has been in League sports since the start and is a good friend of Doublelift.
Gafford also noted that he heard this information from several sources and not just Doublelift himself. It is possible that transfer negotiations may already be underway but this is just speculation on our part at this time.
It was a rough split for TL even before the deteriorating relationship with Doublelift as Broxah had issues with visa and then Coronavirus hit just as he finally managed to join the team.
