Have you been stuck in low elo as support for quite some time, and don't really see a way out with the current meta? In season 12, give Taric support a try, and see yourself blast through the ranks of SoloQ.
In season 11 we have seen a lot of supports come and go with the meta. From Leona's overbearing presence in the lane to Thresh's versatility, and Nami's surprising damage. However, my personal pocket pick has always been Taric. He is Yuumi that is useful in lane, and a champion whose ultimate turns around any team fight.
As a champion, Taric truly embodies the saying "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one". Capable of adapting to any situation, Taric can shield his allies, stop enemy engages, and give them enough healing sustain to make even Mundo blush.
If you are playing into an engage champion, position yourself in such a way that their engage procs you Guardian keystone, and gives you the opportunity to stun the enemy ADC. With your healing and passive double auto attacks, no enemy ADC will survive anything but their support's best engage, which you will never allow.
Playing into enchanter supports is a tricky prospect. As such, pressure the enemy to give your ADC room to breathe, and only engage if you are getting a gank. If your jungler is not ganking, however, you have the opportunity, as the enemy has a lesser chance of running you ADC down with no engage support, to play with and around your jungler.
Poke supports, on the other hand, are used to having priority in lane. A level one stun, while none of them expect it, followed by two auto attacks, will have their health halved, and playing on the backfoot.
Playing Taric is akin to dancing. Timing is everything. Whether it's making use of an enemy moving too far up in lane, or using your ultimate at the perfect time, it will take some practice but will be well worth it in the end. Of course, you must, also, keep in mind the basic rules that every good support player needs to know.
