Shells are one of the defining mechanics of Mortal Shell 2, and Lazlo's is among the more satisfying ones to track down. Like all shells, its general location can be purchased from Zhirelle in Marrow Keep, but doing so costs Glimpse, a resource that is finite and far better spent on shell upgrades. The route to the High Lord's Courtyard is findable through exploration alone, so it's worth saving those Glimpse for upgrades rather than spending them on a location hint.
Step 1: Find the High Lord's Courtyard beacon
Your first objective is to locate and unlock the High Lord's Courtyard beacon. This is found in the Ruins of Charr region, visible on the map as a distinct area to the west of the more populated settlement zones. Work your way there through normal exploration. Once you have the beacon active, you have a fast travel point for the area and can approach the shell location from there.
Step 2: Climb the stairs south of the beacon and use the jumping teleporter
From the High Lord's Courtyard beacon, head south and look for a staircase. Climb it, go through the building, and in the next area, you will find a jumping teleporter. Step onto it and it will launch you into the next area. Once you land, you'll immediately encounter a rolling, spiky enemy. You can fight it or simply run past it if you'd rather not spend the resources. Either way, keep moving.
Step 3: Navigate through the gate and into the hallway
Hug the right-hand wall and continue past a large gate. Immediately after passing by it, look for the next opening and go through it. This leads you into a long hallway that stretches ahead of you. Follow it all the way to its end, dealing with the enemies scattered throughout. It's also worth taking a moment to explore the side areas along the hallway, as there is worthwhile loot to be found before you commit to the boss fight ahead.
Step 4: Defeat Vellen, High Lord of Mammon
At the far end of the hallway is a large room where Vellen, High Lord of Mammon, waits. This is a proper boss encounter, so go in prepared with your best loadout and a supply of consumables. Vellen is a spear-wielding boss who punishes impatience, so read his attacks carefully before committing to your own. Once the fight is won, the prompt to inhabit Lazlo's shell will appear, and doing so also unlocks the "Down with the Thickness" bronze trophy.
Quick tip: Clear the hallway enemies before pushing into the boss room rather than trying to rush through them. Going into a boss fight with low health and spent consumables from a careless run through the corridor is an avoidable problem.
