Combat in Mortal Shell 2 revolves around a handful of interlocking systems, including the Shells you possess and the Seals you equip, but your Weapon is what does the heavy lifting in every fight. General weapon and sidearm locations can be purchased from Merrick in Marrow Keep, but some of them are quite costly, and you might not have that much coin early on, or you'd simply rather save it for upgrades instead.
This guide covers where to find the Black Needle.
Step 1: Reach Sester's Bastion
Head to the Sester's Gate beacon on the far east side of the map. Once there, cleanse the beacon to unlock its dungeon, Sester's Bastion, and take the lift down. Drop down again once inside, but be careful, as an enemy will be waiting behind you. Clear it before moving on.
Step 2: Shoot the bells to connect the platforms
After clearing the enemy, you'll notice two platforms not yet connected to the one you're standing on, along with two bells, one just to your left and one higher up to the right. Shoot both bells with your sidearm to trigger a mechanism that bridges the gap with a stone walkway.
Step 3: Cross the bridge and reach the boss arena
Continue down the path until you reach an area with a bridge and some enemy camps. Clear the enemies, then find the three bells needed to extend the bridge, two on either side and a third tucked beneath it near the far end. Cross the bridge, defeat the enemy waiting at the end of the bridge, and use the platform to jump and reach the boss arena.
Step 4: Defeat the Sesters
This is a two-phase fight. You'll first face the Twin Sesters, one ranged and one melee. Focus down the ranged Sester first, as she's the easier of the two, then finish off the melee Sester. Once both are dead, a second boss, Stray Sesters, will appear. Defeating it drops the Black Needle, along with the Sester's Crest, which can be traded for 3,000 gold.
After the fight, cleanse the corruption, collect the three Ova, and return to the beacon. Cleansing it also clears the entrance to the corrupted gate behind it, which leads to one of the game's main bosses.
