Lies of P, the recent RPG adventure in the Souls-like genre developed by Neowiz Games, incorporates a multitude of mechanics, each playing a significant role when challenging battles arise.
One of these mechanics involves a cryptic cube that you can obtain optionally by completing a side quest centred around an NPC named Giangio.
If you're unsure about the location of this character and how to trigger the associated side quest, or if you've already encountered him and are uncertain about resolving the quest, we have a comprehensive guide to assist you.
What is Cube and what is its function in Lies of P?
Before you proceed across the bridge leading to St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel, take note of a pathway to your right that descends down a set of stairs. At the end of this path, you'll encounter a sizable statue, and NPC Giangio will be standing in front of it. After engaging in a conversation with him, he will assign you a side quest.
Should you speak to him again later, once you've cleared the passage to the cathedral, he will request that you retrieve a Gold Coin Fruit for him, and he will relocate to the cathedral now. As a reward for clearing the path, he will give you the Cube, a device capable of housing Wishstones.
There's no need to fret over the Golden Coin Fruit, as it's an integral part of the storyline and impossible to miss. Upon defeating the Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss, a pathway leading to the second entrance of the hotel will become accessible, and you'll find Giangio standing near a Golden Coin Tree in the courtyard shortly after. Upon plucking the Golden Coin Fruit, you will also earn the "Bear Gold Coin Fruit" trophy/achievement.
Initially, you'll have a stockpile of five Golden Coin Fruits, and additional ones will gradually replenish over time, with new ones maturing every ten minutes. Once you've gathered eight of them, they won't continue to accumulate until you harvest them. You can expedite this process through the use of potions and by acquiring specific skills in the P-Organ.
You can trade Golden Coin Fruits with Giangio in exchange for new Wishstones. Once you slot a Wishstone into the Cube, it becomes available for use in combat, with its abilities primarily focused on bolstering the specter's attributes during boss battles. These enhancements may include improving the spectre's damage, health, or special elemental damage. It's important to note that only one Wishstone can be inserted into the Cube at any given moment, and you have the flexibility to swap them with either Giangio or Stargazers.
