Solving puzzles and keeping your sanity will be the only things you will do in the latest psychological horror adventure from Bloober Team, Layers of Fear.
No matter how simple those puzzles may seem, the pressure of anxiety and the horrific atmosphere will definitely affect your brain, and sometimes the simplest things will seem very complicated to you.
One of the first puzzles you will encounter in the game will be during the introduction of the first jump scare with the pile of books, where you will have to find the three-digit combination for the locked chest. If you don't know how to solve this little puzzle, this guide might help.
How to obtain the three-digit combination for the locked chest
When you enter the room with a lot of strange animal paintings and the chest on the left side, approach the painting of the cat set above the fireplace and light the candles near the painting. The painting will change, revealing the number six (be prepared for the jump scare).
Now turn right and notice the painting of the rat on the left side of the window. Light the candles again; the painting will change, revealing the number nine this time.
The last painting is the painting of the horse located on the right of the window. Again, light the candles and reveal the number four.
Now, approach the chest and enter the combination: six, nine, four. This will unlock the chest, allowing you to pick up the key you will use to progress further into the story.
