Although GTA Online has been around for nearly a decade, it's still an expansive world where players can engage in virtually anything they desire, as long as it's within the game's constraints.
While heists like robbing the casino, racing, and delivering business goods are quite grounded in reality, Rockstar Games occasionally adds quirky and entertaining gimmicks that can keep players entertained for hours.
After the recent introduction of the Gun Van and the Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, Rockstar decided to add the Peyote Plants back into the game. So lets delve deeper into what these mysterious plants are and where they are located in GTA Online.
What are the Peyote Plants in GTA Online?
These plants are found across Los Santos and throughout the larger GTA 5 map. Players can consume them by simply standing near them, resulting in a significant transformation: their character will turn into an animal.
The process is straightforward—you don't need to complete a special task for Lester or reach a specific rank on your Rockstar account. All you need to do is locate a Peyote Plant, and you'll be transformed into a random animal from the GTA V world.
When you consume the Peyote Plants, you'll transform into an animal and remain in that form until the animal is killed. After that, you'll revert to your usual character. Here are a list of animals you can transform into
- Border Collie

Where are the Peyote Plans located in GTA Online?
These Peyote Plants aren't confined to a single area on the map—they're scattered throughout various locations, and you might even come across them during a casual drive. Thanks to GTAWeb, there's a map that shows every Peyote Plant location in GTA Online. To find them, just head towards one of the marked spots, and your controller will start vibrating as you get nearer to a plant.
It's uncertain how long the Peyote Plants will be available in GTA Online, as Rockstar typically includes them for a limited duration. This time, however, transformations are restricted to water-based animals, meaning you'll only turn into creatures like sharks, stingrays, and whales.
