One of the first mysteries you will come across in Midnight Suns is with the four elemental rod. Here is where to get them and how to set them up.
Firaxis introduced a few mysteries in the Abbey that need to be solved by Midnight Suns players and the four elemental rods are probably going to be the first one on your list.
First it requires you to find the four rods and then use them in a proper sequence to power the Elemental Altar up.
There are minor spoilers for the first few hours of the game so proceed cautiously if you haven't unlocked the Library yet.
Fire rod location
It is located in the Chapel part of the Abbey, past the Barracks, on a small pedestal.

Water rod location
This one is adjacent to the Abbey, at the Grotto, next to the pool, leaning against a drainage grate.

Earth rod location
To reach this one, you will need to progress the Abbey exploration and the main story to the point where the Caretaker sends you to the shrine to Agatha. You will meet her ghost here, who will instruct you to pass a trial and unlock the Word of Power - Open.
The word can be used on any door that has the same symbol, which includes the door on your crypt.
Go to Hunter's Folly and use the word (default Space to display the power word wheel on PC) to open the door and enter the crypt.

As you can see, the rod is immediately to your left, on a pile of rocks.
Air rod location
To reach the Air rod, you will need to progress with Agatha to the point where you reach her Elemental Altar.

As soon as you stand in the same position as in the picture above, turn right around the pillar and take the first path to find another door that you can open with the word of power. Go through it to the Whispering Wood and move to the southwestern part of it to find the Air Rod.

Correct rod placement
Once you have all four rods, you will need to place them at the Elemental Altar in the correct sequence. Facing the altar, the correct sequence from left to right is water, air, earth, fire. Alternatively, check the image below for visual explanation.
And that's all folks, your first completed mystery in Midnight Suns.
