Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment — the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds — and published by Xbox Game Studios. Set in the world of Eora, first introduced in the Pillars of Eternity series, players take on the role of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire dispatched to investigate a mysterious plague spreading across the Living Lands. Blending melee combat, magic, and firearms with deep RPG progression and meaningful dialogue choices, Avowed offers a richly detailed zone-based world full of secrets, companions, and branching questlines. The game launched to generally positive reviews and later arrived on PS5 in February 2026 alongside a major Anniversary Update adding New Game+, new playable races, and more.
