Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is just around the corner and in the last few weeks, the developers Infinity Ward have started to share more details about some of the game's features.
Infinity Ward were mostly focused on the multiplayer side of the game as details about the singleplayer campaign remain pretty scarce. In the latest post on the official PlayStation Blog, the devs revealed a ton of new information about the multiplayer, including map sizes, season pass, weapon customisation and more.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have three map sizes and they are named Flash, Tactical and Battle Maps. As the names suggest, Flash Maps are designed for close for close-quarters combat, which we got to see in the brand new 2v2 mode named Gunfight.
Tactical Maps support more traditional 6v6 and 10v10 player counts. These are standard-sized maps for Call of Duty series. The most exciting part of Modern Warfare's multiplayer are Battle Maps, which are reserved for the largest-scale gameplay.
Infinity Ward promise that Battle Maps will support 20v20 matches, and modes with more than 100 players. Now, we already knew that Modern Warfare will have 100-player, large scale battles on some of the biggest maps in the series' history, but another mode with more than 100 players sounds truly special and we can't wait to see how will it work.
Furthermore, Infinity Ward say that Modern Warfare maps are all about giving players tactical options with the new map layout, which offers more opportunities to traverse through sneaky paths and finally bins the three paths layout.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is officially hitting the shelves on 25 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For more news about the game, take a look at all and read more about .
