With four days to go until World War Z launches, Focus Home and Saber Interactive released a short but explosive launch trailer, reminding the fans of everything they need to know before they start ripping into zombie cannon fodder.
Of course, that is likely to be easier said than done, as the ferocity of World War Z's zombies would probably win an award, if anyone were to give away awards for such a thing.
A welcome change from the traditionally slow, lumbering zombies, World War Z pits its players against a rabid horde that, much like in the trailers for the movie, stops at nothing to get to players and have a snack.
And when we say nothing, it's literally nothing, as they're quick to pile up at the base of any obstacle, natural or otherwise, and scaling it is not a matter of if, but when.
At launch, World War Z will feature four locations, New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and Tokyo, each boasting its own overarching story, which is divided into three chapters worth of objectives.
Well, all except Tokyo, which will have two chapters at launch, with another following at a later date.
World War Z has six classes, Gunslinger, Hellraiser, Slasher, Medic, Fixer and Exterminator, with a rich arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps.
And they'll be needing each one in taking down the hordes, whose difficulty will change dynamically to improve player experience, Saber said. This entails a sudden appearance of huge hordes when players are having too easy of a time, as well as some help when they've faced stronger resistance.
World War Z's zombies also come in more flavours, along with specialist ones, a few of whom Saber introduced earlier. The fellow you see on the photo below is likely to be one of the highest priority targets, as they tend to constantly attract more and more zombies, which is not a WWZ scenario you should hope to survive.
