Action RPG Nier: Automata is set to re-release on PC and Play Station 4 as the Game of the YoRHa edition according to ESRB rating. Xbox One version is omitted from the listing and Square Enix are yet to officially confirm the release.

Even though the PC version of Nier: Automata did not receive a single update since the game's release back in February 2017, Square Enix has decided to re-release the game on Steam under the Game of the YoRHa moniker. That's according to ESRB rating which appeared on the official website.

Along with the PC version, the listing also shows PlayStation 4 version but there's no mention of an Xbox One release. Square Enix may follow the same release pattern as they did with the original release when Nier Automata arrived on Xbox in June 2018, more than a year behind PC and PlayStation 4 launch.

Square Enix are yet to officially confirm the new edition but the decision could raise a few eyebrows as PC version suffered from many performance issues which haven't been addressed to this day.

Players had to turn to the community made tools to fix the problems. One of those tools was Fix Automata Resolution which added borderless window support, improved bloom and ambient occlusion resolutions and fixed the annoying mouse cursor bug.

It remains to be seen if the Game of the YoRHa edition brings fixes to these issues and improves the overall performance of the game, but it wouldn't surprise us if Square Enix just glued the DLC and the original game together without any additional improvements.

Nier: Automata was one of the best games of 2017 and it was praised for its narrative, music design, combat system and a mixture of various genres. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world and it follows two androids as they venture through the ruins of a world razed by a war between humans and machines.

If you haven't played the game yet, the Game of the YoRHa edition could be a good reason to give it a try, but only if Square Enix actually deliver the much-needed improvements.
