Square Enix officially revealed the Game of the YoRHa Edition of the critically acclaimed action RPG Nier: Automata. The game will re-release on 23 February 2019 in Japan and release for North America and Europe will come at later date.
Square Enix have confirmed the new edition of Nier: Automata just a couple of weeks after the ESRB leak. The listing on the rating site suggested that the popular action RPG could get another release under the Game of the YoRHa moniker. Once again, the ESRB rating proved to be a legit one as Nier: Automata's game director Yoko Taro reveals the info on his Twitter profile.
Nier: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition will include the 3C3C1D119440927 expansion, six pod designs such as Cardboard, Retro Red, Retro Gray and Grimoire Weiss pod along with avatars set and dynamic PlayStation 4 theme for those who buy the game on PlayStation Store. Players who prefer Steam version will receive two Nier: Automata wallpapers.
The game will release digitally for PlayStation 4 and PC on 26 February 2019. The physical version will be available only on Sony's console. At the moment there is no information about the Xbox One version of the game. It's possible that Nier: Automata GOTY arrives to Microsoft's platform at later date, as that was the case with the original Xbox One launch which came more than one year after PC and PlayStation 4 release.
Other than some mysterious release date calculations, Taro's message didn't include any additional info about the potential fixes for PC version. The port suffered some serious performance issues which haven't been addressed to this day.
Many problems were fixed by the modding community and some of the fixes included improved resolutions for visual effects like bloom and added borderless window support. Hopefully, Square Enix reveal more info in the upcoming weeks about the PC version otherwise it would be a really odd decision to try and sell the same game with the same issues just under the different edition.
That being said, Nier: Automata is still one of the best games of 2017 and if you're yet to try it, Nier: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition could be a good reason to give it a go.
