Riot Games' plans for Yasuo apparently include three new skins in 2020, and if we add the two he got last year, this means that he will be getting five skins in the short time span of just a year and a half
Even though they don't give any advantages in terms of stats, skins have always been one of the favourite features for a majority of League of Legends players.
Riot Games has often been criticized for prioritizing some champions over others when it comes to the number of new skins they are frequently releasing. Lux has been the prime example of this for a couple of years now, but it seems that there is a new sheriff in town, and it's a very familiar face.
League's most popular champion, Yasuo, could become the new face of the "why is this champion getting so many skins" meme. His Battle Boss skin was released in Summer 2019 with True Damage Yasuo coming shortly after.
This Summer event we will get Spirit Blossom Yasuo and with the announcement of a new prestige skin later this year (which means that there will be an additional nonprestige skin), he will get a total of five skins probably in less than a year and a half.
The timeline of these five skins:
- Battle Boss Yasuo - Summer 2019
- True Damage Yasuo - Worlds (November) 2019
- Spirit Blossom Yasuo - Summer 2020
- Prestige skin - scheduled for 2020
- nonprestige skin - scheduled for 2020
This is somewhat understandable considering that according to a recent image in one of Riot's articles , Yasuo is the by far most popular League of Legends champion.
However, while this might be justified, players still don't seem to be too happy about it since there are champions like Skarner who hasn't had skin in over five years.
