Yakuza Remastered Collection got reinforced with Yakuza 5's upgrade recently, which is also available as a single title. Those who already had the collection only need to download the newest addition that now enjoys both performance and graphics upgrades.
Owners of the Yakuza Remastered Collection on PlayStation Store can now download Yakuza 5 Remastered as well. The game should be automatically added to their library but they will need to check the "Extras" or "DLC" tabs on the collection's store page. Alternatively, Yakuza 5 Remastered should be available in the collection owners' library under the "Not Installed" part.
With the latest addition, the collection now includes Yakuza 3,4 and 5. In the latest instalment, Kazuma Kiryu is now a cab driver who found peace which doesn't last for long as Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance break their armistice. Therefore, the Dragon of Dojima comes back once more as he joins four other protagonists in the attempts to prevent the turf war.
While the game is available only on PlayStation 4, the Yakuza Remastered Collection will be available on all major retailers, in case someone prefers buying the physical edition of the collection.
Graphics updates are certainly the first visible improvements in the remastered version of Yakuza 5 but they will be accompanied by performance upgrades as well. The combo will go from 720p 30 FPS to 1080p 60 FPS.
Furthermore, all three games from the collection have undergone a "rigorous re-localisation process" as the English scripts for each game have been revised and rewritten in some cases. Content that was unavailable to Western audiences previously will not be re-added with the Yakuza Remastered Collection.
