World of Warships: Legends is having an April Fool's Day event. The new game mode fashioned especially for the event is named the Duck of War and will feature a leaderboard with special prizes for players who manage to score the most points.

This year, World of Warships: Legends' April Fool's event will kick off on 23 March and go on until 13 April 2020. The players will put their skills to the test in the Duck of War game mode.

The event will start today and players will gain access to the special new Duck of War game mode. The mode will see the daring captains compete against each other in a no-holds-barred, 12-way free for all. Of course, the most successful captains will earn "ducks" and with them climb the Duck of War leaderboard.

Rewards such as a unique patch will be given to the top 10 per cent of captains on the leaderboard. The scores will reset each week and the rewards will change just as frequently.

In Duck of War, players will command the Ultra Cruiser which is an amped-up warship designed to perform at the top of its game in both a bathtub as well as the Duck of War event map. There will be two modifications of Ultra Cruiser available, one with an aggressive forward-firing torpedo, another with a defensive, aft-firing torpedo.

World of Warships: Legends recently got updated with the Russian Navy and its great long-range firepower. The Russian destroyers are available in early access and due to arrive in full next update.

The seven new Russian and Soviet cruisers form the backbone of the Red Navy tech tree. They are lightly armoured but heavily armed and cover a large period in Russian naval history, from 1900 into the Cold War. However, they do share familiar characteristics from Tier III onward.
