World of Warships: Legends got updated for the first time in 2021 and the devs are firing on all cylinders. The highlights include the new ship type, aircraft carriers, new campaign - Dragonslayer, British tech tree additions, Arena game mode and Lunar New Year festivities.
Aircraft Carriers are pretty self-explanatory and the fans have been itching to try these out for a while now. Langley, Ranger, Hōshō and Ryūjō are the first four ships of this type to be added, in a game mode of their own - Air Strike. In order to start controlling one of the carriers, you will first need to play a few Air Strike matches in order to get a better understanding of these ships since they will be actively evading combat.
Dragonslayer campaign features Siegfried, a German battlecruiser that was built with six 15-inch guns and two sets of torpedo launchers on its sides. It is meant to be a heavy surface raider, which means it will also boast good protection. Players can get the ship as the final reward of the campaign and earning progress after obtaining Siegfried will keep awarding Steel.
The British tech tree is now enriched by a series of heavy cruisers that start at Tier IV. These ships boast powerful but somewhat slow guns and are fairly well-protected. On top of that, they are equipped with torpedoes, Sonar and Repair consumable. Cruiser Containers will also have these ships.
Arena Mode will have players fighting in four teams of three ships. It will kick off after the Air Strike event on February 15, 2021, and there will be a community-wide ladder for the most competitive players to display their skill. There will be a lot of Steel involved in the reward pool so make sure you keep an eye on this mode.
Lunar New Year will kick off on February 12, 2021, and there will be two collectable premium cruisers, event containers, camouflages and a new port for the event.
