"From humble origins in the Sump of Zaun, Glasc Industries founder Renata Glasc was inspired by her family’s alchemical practice to improve life across Zaun and Piltover alike. For the last 30 years, her visionary work has touched civil development, tech, and philanthropy, collaborating with both citizens and chem barons to keep the streets safe."
Riot Games sure do know to spin a good story, and this marketing-style teaser for the champion is superb. When adding in what they said last season when announcing the two new champions, Zeri and now Renata, we can infer what to expect from the newest champion.
As per Riot's explanation, the newest support will be a gold-based champion. Not in the way that Pyke is, by giving his allies more gold, rather by allowing allies to spend their gold in new ways.
If the new teaser is anything to go by, Renata will likely offer consumables for her allies to buy, those unavailable to the enemy team, giving an edge to her ally in the lane. Perhaps, late game, she will offer better potion alternatives to those allies that have more gold than they can spend, as they are full build.
Hopefully, Renata will not just be a support version of Ornn, as that would cheapen both champion designs.
