WolfEye Studios announced that the release date for Weird West has been pushed a little bit further, although the wait isn't particularly long.
Weird West was initially supposed to launch at some point during autumn 2021 but since Coronavirus insists on sticking around and ruining people's days, not many were surprised when the devs announced the game would be delayed.
Just like with many other games of the modern-day, this was not meant to be the last among them. The latest delay was announced on December 22, 2021, when the new release date was announced.
Weird West is now slated for release on March 31, 2022.
The reasons cited for the delay are the standard ones we see these days. First, the team wants to deliver the best game they can, which will require additional time. Second, it appears the leadership is averse to working their staff to death so they are avoiding crunch, which results in the moved timeline.
Considering that everyone who tried Weird West so far found themselves infatuated with the game, it looks like WolfEye Studios have been making the right calls for a long time now so it's hard to question the necessity of delay as well.
With the new release date, the game will also be in Q1 of 2022, which will be packed with a ton of hyped-up releases as well as another indie showcase on Steam. It certainly sounds like a good time to be a gamer.
