Riot Games revealed their targets for nerfing and buffing in the next League of Legends patch, with Vayne and Talon probably being the highlights.

Talon has been terrorizing League of Legends for a long time now as he even had a highly prominent role during Worlds 2021 and somehow managed to avoid the nerf bat afterwards. That time may be coming to an end as Riot Phlox announced him as one of the targets for nerfing in LoL patch 11.24b which is coming out Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Phlox only announced the balancing targets and didn't provide any context or explanation on what they will be like. In the end it looks like a box of changes that will be unwrapped on Wednesday.

Nerfs

  • Dr. Mundo
  • Lux
  • Vayne
  • Kassadin
  • Talon (jungle)

Considering it was specifically mentioned Talon's jungling potential will be nerfed as opposed to champion itself, it's highly likely Rake will be less effective against neutral monsters in order to cut his clear time.

Vayne has been dominant due to item changes that made sure she wasn't super squishy, which eliminated a bit of her counterplay in the process. Since she is getting nerfed instead of the items in question, it appears Riot might be sticking with their power for the next season. If they do nerf them, however, Vayne will end up in a really sticky situation.

Buffs

  • Gwen
  • Olaf
  • Kai'Sa
  • Pyke
  • Varus

Gwen and Pyke are perhaps the most controversial buffs on the list. In the former's case, it's not because she is powerful but rather because she can become overbearing and extremely annoying to play against.

Pyke was always a problematic one for Riot to balance out so it remains to be seen how these buffs will affect the meta.

Additionally, two keystones are getting changed, with First Strike being rightfully a target for nerfing while Glacial Augment is getting buffed. We can already hear the cheers of happy Senna players.
