The VCT start has been launched with the release of this years Champions skin and the games so far have had the players on the edge of their seats.
Just like every competitive game, Valorant has a stuperstition that the players believe in and that is the "3 - 9" curse.
The players believe that if the score before role swap is 3 - 9, the team that was winning will suddenly start and might even lose the game.
Many players have shown their "proof" of the 3-9 curse being real on Reddit, Tiktok and Youtube but has it ever happened in the competitive scene?
The match between EDG and Giants Gaming started with the Giants winning the first two rounds as defenders without much struggle but have ended up losing the bonus.
Losing the bonus round did not set the Giants back at all as they went on to win 2 more rounds without leaving anything to chance.
EDG then wins round 6, showing a potential comeback but are quickly shut down as the Giants win another 2 rounds, making the score 2 - 6.
Round 9 goes to EDG and that ended up being the last round they won in the half. Things were not looking too great for EDG but many players saw that there was hope due to the score being "3 - 9".
After role swap, EDG goes on to win the first 4 rounds of the half, making the score 7-9, was this the legendary comeback the curse revolved around?
Round 5 did end up going to the Giants and the fans lost hope again. At this point the score was 7 - 10 and EDG decided to recompose themselves and went on to win the next 3 rounds, tying the game for the first time in 20 rounds.
The finish line was equally close to both teams. The Giants played their cards right to win the next 2 rounds, placing them 1 round away from the map victory but EDG followed up and got themselves into overtime.
Overtime went on till round 26 where the score was 13-13 but the Giants were done playing around and attempted one last push towards the victory, and they succeeded.
The Giants won Split against EDG with the score 15-13.
