Call of Duty: Modern Warfare topped the UK charts second week in a row, surprising no one. Luigi's Mansion seems to have topped expectations though, becoming the fastest Switch game of 2019.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is selling like hotcakes for the second week in a row, which is not highly unusual since the title earned $600 million in the first three days of existence, providing a record-breaking revenue for the past six years. Activision didn't fire anyone yet.
The title saw a 49 per cent drop in sales compared to the launch week, which is not entirely unexpected. Considering it still secured the #1 spot, the sales of this annual title sound spookier than Halloween itself.
While Modern Warfare's obscene earnings topped the charts, it's actually Nintendo with the Switch exclusive Luigi's Mansion 3 that seem to be celebrating the most. The game managed to surpass hard-hitters such as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Super Mario Maker 2 in the race to be Switch's fastest-selling game of 2019. Ironically enough, Luigi outperformed his vastly more popular brother this time around.
FIFA 20 continues to perform well as it took the #3 spot. There is no telling what total revenue comparisons would look like though as FIFA Ultimate Team is the golden goose of the series and UK sales charts only account for physical game copies, not recurring revenue streams.
Mario Kart Deluxe 8 climbed two spots to secure #4 over Obsidian's RPG, The Outer Worlds, which held it in the past week. The game is still in #5 though, which means it performed really well, considering it launched on exactly the same date as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
