Mario Kart 8 Deluxe pushed Prey off of the track and managed to clear the finish line first in the race for the top spot on last week's sales chart for the UK. Mario Kart 8 continued its reign from last week by appearing again as the number one title.
In Prey's defence, it did come out on 05 May, just as the week was winding down. Same thing happened to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild back in March. And I think we all know what happened next. Nevertheless, Prey is getting some less-than-stellar reviews and the fact it had no demo for PC couldn't have helped its initial sales for the platform.
Steam reviews are, however, marked as "Very Positive" with many comparing it to Bioshock.
We'll move on with the chart line-up now, before I break and write a "number two" joke. Rounding off the top three again this week is GTA V. No surprises there. CoD: Infinite Warfare made quite a leap from number eight to number four this week. All this talk about the franchise going back to its roots must have re-ignited some players' interest. And is it just me, or there's a Josh Duhamel lookalike in the trailer for the Call of Duty WWII?
Never mind, I looked it up. There is no "lookalike", it's the guy. All those hours spent watching Las Vegas finally paid off. Kind of. Not really. Nice show.
Next up we have Rocket League re-entering the top ten and settling down at number six. The Legend of Zelda: BotW fell down to the seventh spot, and FIFA 17 is at number eight. The last two spots of the top ten go to a couple of horizons: Horizon Zero Dawn (nine) and Forza Horizon 3 (ten).
Here you go, the top ten:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Prey
- GTA 5
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Lego Worlds
- Rocket League
- The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
- FIFA 17
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Forza Horizon 3
