Ubisoft's swashbuckling action-adventure game that was released way back in 2017 is still in development, Ubisoft confirmed. The game is now targeting 2022-2023 release date.
Ubisoft have once again delayed their pirate-themed action game Skull and Bones. The publisher shared some additional details about the game during their financial report today, stating that the project has not been cancelled. It's still in development but it won't be coming in 2021, as Ubisoft previously stated.
Instead, the publisher have pushed the release date much further - 2022 or even 2023. It seems that the development of the game is still not going as planned so Ubisoft are having a hard time setting concrete release windows for this title.
Skull and Bones was originally set to release in 2018 but was delayed to 2019 and later to 2020. In September 2020, Ubisoft revealed that the game will be reworked and delayed again. Ubisoft Berlin studio were also assigned to help with the project.
Of course, it's always bad news when a game is stuck in development for years and tossed around without any trailers or gameplay reveals but we hope that Ubisoft Singapore and Ubisoft Berlin will manage to turn the tide in their favour with the help of other support studios.
Skull and Bones was announced for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but it's safe to expect that release platforms have changed now that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are out.
